My name is Wm. Bruce Wray.
I am an esoteric, neurodivergent, and above all compassionate individual, husband, and father. I am an avid technologist, educator, speaker, and outdoorsman.
I am also a multi-disciplinary attorney, and my wife and I run a boutique legal practice,Wray Law TCP.
I am currently available for consultation, speaking engagements, outreach, and legal services.
I am based in the Midwestern United States, in the Omaha Metro Area, on the dividing line between Nebraska and Iowa. Working with international clients, it is often easiest to locate Omaha, NE as about midway between Chicago, IL and Denver, CO.
“You’re good at math” - words from Dr. Cheng, my Math 201 professor, that rippled throughout my life.
This comment, and his kind advice following, led me to an undergraduate degree in Business Administration focused in MIS, and a second major in Mathematics.
It led me to two Masters’ degrees, the first in Computer Science with a focus on Information Assurance, and the second in Mathematics.
It led me to a decade plus career in the information technology field, where I wore many hats - software developer, systems architect, project manager, security auditor, and adjunct professor.
It also led to my now decade plus legal career focused on technology, cybersecurity, privacy, and intellectual property. That legal experience includes an IP/IT practice group within a mid-sized national law firm and in-house roles with PayPal, LinkedIn, and SUSE.
Fatherhood
During a networking event at LinkedIn, I received notoriety for both being the snake charmer, as I had been bitten by a snake, and for having kids in both college and diapers. My wife and I have seven children, thankfully no longer in diapers, but ranging from early adulthood to elementary. We are extremely proud of all of them.
Outdoors
One of our family’s greatest joys is our annual fishing trip to Northern Minnesota. A week of chaos, with a packed cabin, deflating air mattresses, and an oversized pontoon with 12 plus fishing lines coming out. My family also enjoys kayaking, camping, fly fishing, boating, and hunting.

Cybersecurity
Being “Good at Math” translated into a career in technology and ultimately a focus on cybersecurity. Turns out number theory - co-listed in Computer Science and Mathematics - is the mathematical bridge underlying all encryption. As a practicing attorney, I completed my CISSP (Wray #614904) and am president of the ISC2 Local Chapter, Omaha/Lincoln, and serve on the board of the NebraskaCERT organization.
Today, I provide bespoke legal advice for a variety of companies, ranging from a UK based fintech startup to a defense industry complex technology provider. I am also a frequent speaker at legal and cybersecurity conferences and events and serve as adjunct professor in the Legal Research and Writing program at Creighton School of Law.
My life is made immensely better, fuller, and richer through the love and support of my amazing wife and partner, Diana. Taking inspiration from John Legend, she completes me because all of her loves all of me, loves my curves and all my edges, and my perfect imperfections. I am an at times fractured, tortured, and complicated man, and she brings out the best in me.
